Public programme organised by Shanzhai Lyric for the second iteration of exhibition “Long March Project: Building Code Violations III – Special Economic Zone,” at the Times Museum in Guangzhou. Programme included a talk by Beijing-based artist Jiao Yingqi, whose work “Character Studies” addresses the disjunct between the rapid evolution of the technological sphere and the adequacy of terms to describe these changes. Talk was followed by a (Mis)translation Workshop embracing nonsense as a mode of investigating identity, difference, and desire in a globalised era.
